Introduction to Stranded Colorwork
Have you wanted to take your knitting to the next level and learn the technique of stranded colorwork knitting? In this class, you will learn stranded knitting in the round with two hands (both English and Continental) at the same time when we make the Alpine Bloom Hat by Caitlin Hunter. This fun colorwork hat pattern is written for both child and adult sizes. After this class, you will have the skills you need to knit all the beautiful colorwork patterns in your queue.
Teacher note: there will be homework before the class. It’s fun homework! You’ll need to cast-on and complete the ribbing so we can get started on learning to read the chart, then get into the stranded knitting technique. More information on the homework will be emailed to you before the start of class.
SKILLS NEEDED: casting on, knitting, purling, knitting in the round, decreasing, binding off
SKILLS LEARNED: how to read colorwork charts, two-handed stranded knitting, trapping floats, tips for keeping even tension with colorwork knitting, color dominance discussion.
