Class- Lace Shawl Fall 2022

This corner-to-corner sideways shawl functions both as a wrap and a scarf, with a lace motif native to Scandinavia, commonly found in triangle shaped Faroese shawls. While this shawl has an entirely different construction method and shape, it features the same light and lofty garter fabric achieved with large needles and woolen spun yarn. The name Solverv translates to Solstice, reflecting its versatility for every season.
SKILLS NEEDED: experience with knitting and purling
SKILLS LEARNED: reading charts for lace, understanding lace patterns, fixing mistakes in lace, increasing and decreasing, blocking lace
CLASS DATES: 3 Sundays // 2pm - 4pm // October 2, 9, 16
COST: $ 60, plus class supplies listed below.
SUPPLIES NEEDED FOR THE CLASS:
- 1000 yards (150 grams) of Fingering Weight - any woolen spun yarn such as Jamieson & Smith, BT Loft, & Berroco Lanas Light
Needles & Notions:
- US 10/6mm 24” circular needle
- darning needle, scissors, ruler or tape measure & at least 2 stitch markers
